Organiser of the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2014, Climate Action, in partnership with Peru2021, UNFCCC and Ministerio del Ambiente Peru is hosting a live webinar to discuss what to expect from COP20, potential pathways to success and how this will affect COP21 in Paris next year.
COP20 in Lima this December is the foremost and final opportunity for global nations to draft a universal agreement on climate change before a definitive commitment in Paris in 2015.
Climate Action Director, Claire Poole, will curate the discussion around the draft needed for agreement in Paris, national contributions, sustainable innovation, climate finance and the need for collaboration between all stakeholders to mobilize real action.
The webinar panellists include Richard Kinley, Deputy Executive Secretary, UNFCCC and Henri Le Bienvenu, General Manager of Peru 2021.
Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC said “The litmus test of success in Lima will be a clear draft of the universal agreement, a shared determination by all to deliver significant national contributions to build a low carbon resilient future, initial capitalisation of the Green Climate Fund, and the mobilisation of a broad coalition of actors turning potential into reality on the ground without delay."
Governments, City Mayors, NGOs and the private sector is encouraged to take part in this timely webinar. This is a live online event that will be broadcast internationally at 9am Peru time | 2pm London time and lasts for 45 minutes.
